The Meetings and Events team facilitated 29 events in 2016 throughout North America, Europe and China. Significant achievement was realized as each event met target goals for engagement that continue to raise awareness of SAE and connect members, partners and contributors with in-person events.
World Congress 2016 saw significant growth in terms of exhibitors and participants leading to an 15% increase in revenue versus 2015. The team has been developing the redefining of World Congress into WCX, a collective experience, which will be unveiled in 2017.
Following the reformat effort, COMVEC was also modified and received positively with an increase in attendee satisfaction scores and, for the first time ever, delivering a positive margin.
Internally, the group restructured bringing all operations and logistics in-house. The benefit includes improved internal training and process development along with achieving a cost savings.
